funtastic fiesta

Crowds thronged the Young Parents Fiesta 2008 for fun and games, fabulous deals and family bonding.

Is your child cover material? Over 600 parents certainly thought so when they entered their kids in the Young Parents Cover Child and Cover Baby contests. From dangling toys to making funny faces, these proud mamas and papas did everything they could to make their child smile for the camera.

This annual contest was among the many highlights of the Young Parents Fiesta, which was held at Marina Square’s Central Atrium from June 27 to 29, 2008. Now in its ninth year, the extravaganza attracted over 30,000 people even though the school term had started.

YP staff were kept on their feet all day long as eager readers flocked to the subscription counter for goodie bags and amazing subscription deals. The response was so overwhelming that we sold out copies of the July issue and the subscription gifts were fully redeemed.

Families also enjoyed loads of stage activities, including appearances by lovable character Blue from Nickelodeon’s Blue’s Clues as well as Baby Sarah and the Mighty Savers Family from OCBC Bank; the Hannah Montana Fashion Walk and Johnson’s baby Games.

At the exhibitors’ booths, parents grabbed special deals on a wide range of products and services, while the kids entertained themselves at the Singapore Sports Council’s booth, where they tried exciting sports like archery, aikido and frisbee sports.
