Pick from a complete line of clothing including underwear, swimwear, hosiery and pyjamas. What YP likes: Egg Cruise items that are designed for our warmer climes. These lightweight, breathable pieces in upbeat hues will keep you cool and comfortable even in the tropical heat. What’s in store: Comfy casuals (tops, bottoms, jeans, sleepwear) in generous cuts and soft materials that pamper swollen bodies. Besides maternity wear, the various Mothercare outlets stock a large array of maternity, nursing and children’s accessories and clothing. What YP likes: Roomy nightshirts and nightdresses that you can happily bed down in.
SWELL What’s in store: A trendy collection of cheery printed tops and dresses, smart work and weekend pants, comfy pastel-coloured soft tees and shorts, and skinny jeans. A few new designs come in every two to three weeks, so there’s always something to look forward to. Check out the cute, candy-coloured support pillows to ease back pain in bed and a range of Bical rubber-soled shoe/sock footwear for babies (six months to three years). 9 MOIS What’s in store: Chic and breezy casuals such as soft, floaty halter-tops in sweet floral patterns or lively stripes. Bottoms come in neat capris and dark denim jeans. Think light, summery togs that will see you through weekend mall-shopping or sunny days at the beach. What YP likes: The boutique atmosphere, complete with classical chandelier, makes shopping here both cosy and cool. There’s a modest but modern selection of well-cut jeans that has mummies coming back – the stretchable underbelly denims are fashionable enough to slip on even after pregnancy. These include tube, halter and strappy tops, T-shirts and blouses, fashionable Bermudas and shorts, stretchable slinky trousers, and office-friendly skirts and pants. There’s something for everyone. MATERNITY EXCHANGE What’s in store: A robust selection of local and international labels, including the much-loved Liz Lange, Japanese Weekend, Juliet Dream and Belly Basics. An impressive range of contemporary togs from kimono tops to stonewashed denims, all up for rental or purchase. What YP likes: The idea of renting maternity clothes. You get to revive your wardrobe every few weeks with different pieces, and if you really like an item, pay the full price and keep it. MARTON-BELL 1 Harbourfront Walk, #02-84 Vivocity, What’s in store: Sleek and smart office-type shirts, blouses, pants and shift dresses for the working mum, a selection of Polo-type tees and cotton tops in punchy colours, and some dressy tops and ankle-length gowns. In addition, the store offers children’s wear by Stephanie M (for girls aged three months to 14 years) and ergonomic shoes from American footwear label Earth (only at Novena Square) and Portugese brand Arcopedico. What YP likes: Boardroom basic that career mamas will snap up, in must-have staples like solid or striped blacks, whites, greys and browns. The crisp white shirts (long and short-sleeved), pinstripe pants and streamlined dresses make great mix-and-match pieces. MOTHERS EN VOGUE What’s in store: Comfortable tees, tanks, camis and halters in both plain and perky shades, long and short one-tone dresses, as well as clean-cut Bermudas, cargo pants, capris and skirts. Its eco collection of organic cotton and bamboo fibre tops is environmentally friendly and feels great on the skin. Look out too for the cute, matching mother-and-child swimwear and tees, and sleek cold-climate jackets. LA BLOOMING CHIC What’s in store: Living up to its name, clothes are chic, chic, chic. Maternity wear comes in the LBC Basic, LBC Cutting Edge and LBC Exclusive collections, ranging from simple to spunky to sophisticated. Tops and dresses sport refreshing cuts and versatile designs, and bottoms spell cool and contemporary. What YP likes: The diverse looks, from classy, sequin-studded lil’ black dresses to uber-urban denim jackets and street pants. EXPECTANT What’s in store: Over 10 designer labels from the US and Europe, including the popular FEM by T-bags, Susana Monaco and Voom, as well as edgy jeans from cult brands Citizens of Humanity and Rock & Republic. Dresses are fun, flirty and glamorous, with more than a few black-tie event-worthy offerings. Jewellery, accessories and Mi Amore maternity skincare products also available. What YP likes: The daring silhouettes and fashion-forward designs that shout “personality”. Perfect as pick-me-up or special occasion buys. MOTHERS WORK What’s in store: A balanced mix of classic and lively looks, mainly from Australian label Ripe and US brand Olian. The latter’s zesty prints and patterns will certainly spice up slow days, and pair off well with Ripe’s cleaner threads. The store also has swimwear and maternity accessories like belly belts and bra extenders.
