Question: I have cravings for doughnuts and preserved plums, and I can go through a few of them in one sitting. Will these cause harm to my baby or me? Can you suggest some healthier food substitutions?
Answer: Doughnuts are high in sugar and fat, while preserved plums have excessive salt and preservatives. Having one occasionally is fine, but to go through a few in one sitting is not advisable as doughnuts contain excessive empty calories, and too much salt may lead to water retention. Healthier alternatives are fresh fruits, vegetable sticks, and high-fibre breads or biscuits.
