If they love MINIONS
Where to stay Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida, USA
What’s special? The newly renovated Despicable Me Kids’ Suites capture the fun, excitement and playfulness of Gru’s laboratory, with Minion wallpaper and motifs, and even Minion-inspired bedding, complete with Gru’s scarf.
What is especially cool about the suite is that it is separate from Mum and Dad’s standard king bedroom – a special “Authorised Minions Only” door connects both the kids’ and the adults’ rooms, which together cover an area of about 60 to 62 sq m.
The door can be open or closed so both groups can have privacy but, for security, entrance to both rooms is only through the adult room. In other words, the children’s room opens only into the adult’s room, and not into the hallway.
The kids’ suite invites little guests to sleep like Margo, Edith and Agnes, in cute, custom-designed missile beds that feature scratches and marks for authenticity. Gru’s big red chair sits by the window in the corner of the room, and a pair of Minion eyeballs stares out from above the curtains.
Bonus: The kids get their own closet and television set, so they don’t have to share with Mum and Dad.

Where to stay Disneyland Hotel, Anaheim, California, USA
What’s special? One of the Disneyland Hotel’s Signature Suites, the stylish Mickey Mouse Penthouse celebrates Walt Disney’s most famous cartoon character creation everywhere you look.
The penthouse is luxurious and spacious, occupying nearly 150 sq m – larger than a HDB executive flat. It incorporates a living room, dining and kitchen areas, two bedrooms, and two and-a-half bathrooms.
Seldom-seen photos, sketches and maquettes from the Disney Archives and Disney Animation Library are prominently displayed on walls and shelves. Some feature images of Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney together through the years.
The second bedroom is perfect for the kids. It has a round bed, a Mickey glove pillow, a DVD player and video games, Mickey lamps, and a special animation table, where young artists can draw their own characters and watch their sketches come to life.
In the master suite bathroom, guests can enjoy the Jacuzzi tub, the high-tech TV inside the vanity mirror, and the steam shower that heats up to reveal a Hidden Mickey on the wall.
The penthouse comfortably sleeps six, and is located on the top floor of the hotel’s Adventure Tower, which is themed to Disneyland Park’s Adventure Land. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer amazing views of the sprawling resort, including Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park and the Downtown Disney District.
