Climbers must undergo a short safety briefing before they can get started.

The walls are equipped with an automatic belay system (pictured) which eliminates the need for a human belayer.

Once you’ve reached the top of the wall or wish to give up, just hold on to the rope and it takes you down gently and slowly.

The Straits Times reported that there are now 10 climbing gyms in Singapore. Other facilities include Climb Central, located in the middle of Kallang Wave Mall; outdoor space The Cliff at Snow City in Jurong East; and Climb Asia, one of the pioneers in the scene that opened in 2003.

Instead of dull grey walls that you might find at other climbing centres, Clip ‘n Climb is awashed in bright colours and pumping music.
