The Knolls at Capella Singapore (Feb 14)
For an intimate Valentine’s Day dinner far from the bustling city, opt for The Knolls restaurant at Capella Singapore on Sentosa.
Boasting views of the infinity pool, The Knolls has curated a delectable four-course menu that is one of the best meals Young Parents had in a long while.
The dinner features a carpaccio of Hokkaido scallop served alongside porcini mushroom ragout and sustainable Avruga caviar – made from herring, it has all of the smoky, exquisite brininess of caviar without the guilt.
Thereafter, you have an option of an Atlantic Black Cod Confit, accompanied by creamy fennel compote, crispy leek and finished with champagne sauce, or Tajima Wagyu Beef Striploin served along with seared foie gras, potato mousseline and beetroot sauce.
Better yet, book its Romantic Retreat package and make it a staycation for just the two of you. The package includes a choice of accommodation, a 60-minute couple massage at Auriga Spa, the Romantic Set Dinner at The Knolls, a cooking class for two at Chef’s Table, romantic amenities such as artisanal cheese, champagne and strawberries, breakfast and more.

Tablescape Restaurant & Bar (Feb 8 to 16)
For contemporary European dining, Tablescape Restaurant & Bar offers a romantic Valentine’s Day degustation dinner. Start off with Cold-smoked Oysters – long thought of as an aphrodisiac – spiked with a locally-inspired Singapore Sling granita and layered with cucumber tartare, as well as a second course of Foie Gras with Plums.
This is followed by ‘Risotto’ without Rice, an original creation by Executive Chef Armando – Riso di semola, a rare pasta made that resembles rice, is simmered in a housemade octopus stock, enriched with celeriac puree and balanced with the zest of Amalfi lemons for a unique dish.
There are two mains to choose from – Confit Black Cod with Purple Potato Chips and Anchovy-Amalfi Lemon Sauce, or Beef Tenderloin with White, Gold and Red Baby Beetroots and Truffle Jus.
The classic Italian dessert tiramisu is the sweet ending, but with a twist. One is deconstructed so that your husband can create the mascarpone mousse, ladyfinger biscuits and a coffee syrup laced with Baileys before presenting it to you – hopefully, says Chef Armando, for a kiss in return.
Price: From $168++ per couple. The luxurious treat can even be extended into a romantic staycation at Grand Park City Hall complete with a basket of strawberries, a bottle of prosecco and breakfast in bed for two. Rates start from $475++ per night for a Crystal Club Deluxe King room with Club floor privileges.
