Some HDB playgrounds are ordinary, but some are so amazing that we have to do a video series on them. We visited 6 new-generation thematic playgrounds that make you want to be a kid all over again, so watch our for each episode every Tuesday from March 4.
In episode 1, we visit the Eastbank @ Canberra playground. It has a brightly-coloured “ship” as its focus, as the Sembawang area used to be home to a naval base. Kids can climb up to the upper deck for a bird’s eye view, then slide down. The colours of the rubber flooring mimic the seashore, and the climbing structures here are meant to look like a kelong and its fishing nets.
Built since 2017, play areas like this one reflect unique characteristics of each town. They also provide lots of opportunities for adventurous play, which is great for your young ones. The fact that they’re made for Instagram is a bonus.
Find it in front of Block 121B & 121C Canberra Street. Watch our video below and take the kids there today!
