Vincent Ng and wife welcome their first child

    Martial arts expert and former actor Vincent Ng and his wife have welcomed their first child, a baby boy. The baby weighed 3kg and was delivered at Mount Elizabeth hospital recently.

    “It’s not easy for a woman to carry and give birth to a baby,” Vincent told Chinese daily Shin Min Daily News, and added that he was moved to tears when he cut his son’s umbilical cord.

    Even though the couple had gone for infant care classes, the first-time dad was still caught off-guard by his baby’s urine while changing nappies at the hospital.

    “Both fatherhood and martial arts are things that require practice,” Vincent  said.

    Adding to the celebrations is Vincent’s recent appointment as wushu director of Singapore National Wushu Federation.

    Vincent is also busy preparing for the opening of a new 6,000 sqm martial arts school in October. There, he will hold physical fitness courses with local singer Alfred Sim who is also an athletics coach.

    “I hope to serve the nation by promoting martial arts in Singapore,” Vincent said.

    And when asked if he has plans for a second baby, Vincent said: “Definitely! I hope that I can work well and be a good father at the same time.”

    “Now, my family is the most important part of my life. I’m very grateful.”
