If you have sensitive skin, chances are your kids may have it too. Ease your kid’s discomfort with the right skincare approach.
The right bath time cleanser and moisturiser can help soothe dry, eczema-prone skin.
We feed our kids nutritious food, and provide ample exercise and mental stimulation to help them grow healthy and strong. But did you know that their skin – the largest organ in the body – also requires tender loving care?
Think of your kids’ skin as armour: While a healthy skin barrier prevents tears and protects against infection, a weak skin barrier makes it easier for irritants and other nasties to penetrate it. Dry, itchy skin can occur when weakened skin can no longer regulate its water content.
If you and/or your little ones have sensitive, dry or eczema-prone skin, choosing the right body and skincare products is important. A good skincare regime calms and protects their skin, as well as eases discomfort that comes with dry, itchy skin. And when dry, sensitive skin is soothed and healthier, you’ll notice a significant improvement in your quality of life.
Introducing the dry skin saviour
Bioderma’s Atoderm range of cleansers and moisturisers are formulated with ultra-gentle and hydrating ingredients that keep skin healthy and happy.
For quick relief, the Atoderm Huile de douche (an anti-irritation shower oil) and PP Baume (ultra-nourishing balm) work as an effective two-step skincare regime to calm your little one’s dry, irritated and eczema-prone skin. Both products are gentle enough for babies aged six months and above.
Bioderma, a dermatological skincare brand from France, is renowned for its gentle yet effective H2O micellar water that removes makeup, impurities and even trapped pollutants PM 2.5 -1. In fact, all its products are suitable for sensitive skin.
Here, we take a look at their unique formulation that restores skin barrier for healthy skin:
Atoderm Huile de douche This anti-irritation shower oil provides 24-hour hydration from the time your kid steps into the shower.
Regular cleansers may have a higher pH level, but the ultra-mild Atoderm Huile de douche’s pH level of 5 to 5.5 – which is similar to the natural pH level of our skin surface – ensures that it is suitable for the most sensitive skin.
Its unique formulation consists of lipid-replenishing agents, such as glycerin, plant biolipids and vitamin PP.
They lock in moisture, relieve tightness and give dry skin longer-lasting hydration. Your little one (yourself included!) will like its refreshing, non-oily gel-like texture, too.
Atoderm Huile de douche also contains a special signature patent called Skin Barrier TherapyTM, formulated with Sucroesters, an active ingredient which limits the adhesion of S.aureus – a type of bacteria known to cause and aggravate skin irritation – on your kid’s skin.
In addition to being soap-free, there are also no other harsh ingredients – parabens, alcohol, colorants and other preservatives – in the formulation.
Atoderm PP Baume If you or your kid has dry skin or eczema-prone skin, it’s important not to skip moisturiser after bath time. In fact, applying the right moisturiser immediately after a bath is key to soothing and protecting dry skin.
The Atoderm PP Baume seals in moisture and calms irritation and itch from the first time you apply it to your little one’s skin. Formulated without parabens, alcohol, fragrance and preservatives, the ultra-nourishing balm contains highly-moisturising ingredients such as zanthalene, Vitamin PP, glycerin and Vaseline to soothe, repair and relieve skin discomfort.
From August 2019, the limited edition Atoderm regime set, consisting of the Atoderm Huile de douche (200ml, limited edition format) and PP Baume (200ml) will be available at $29.90 at its official retailers (while stocks last). They include Guardian Health and Beauty, Lazada Official Store, Robinsons, Unity, Watsons Personal Care Stores and Welcia-BHG.
